Flat Roof Services

A flat roof is a type of roof that has no slope. It is level. The slant of a roof is called its pitch and flat roofs have up to 10 degrees (or less). Flat roofs are mostly used in places that have a lot of dry weather, so the people can use the space on top for things like living. Flat roofs are found all over South Florida. They have different materials depending on the climate. In warmer climates, flat roofs can be made of concrete or masonry and they keep out sun heat and don't cost much if there is not much wood to use.

South Florida Commercial Roofers have developed special installation techniques for flat roofs. These installations often go beyond what is required by building code, and they are extremely useful. They prevent leaks and make sure that the roof lasts longer.

Flat roofs are common in South Florida and they can't be seen from the ground because they have no slope. Most flat roofs have zero pitch, which means that it is hard for water to run off of them. There are many different types of flat roofs. We will take the time to see what type you have and then decide which one is best for you. With the right materials and installation, a flat roof can be enjoyed for a long time without any trouble and very little maintenance. Below are some of the different flat roof types South Florida Commercial

Thermoplastic Roofing

These systems are different from each other. They are plastic that is made of vinyl and it is called PVC (Polyvinyl Chloride) or TPO (Thermoplastic Olefin). You put them on with hot air heat welding. They can be fixed easily with a chemical bond or glue if they are damaged.

Asphalt Gravel Roof

Gravel used to be the most common way to put on a flat roof. It is also called asphalt gravel roofs. Gravel roofs are not good for new buildings because newer systems offer better solutions.

Asphalt Built Up Roof

This is the most common type of flat roof now. It is made up of layers that are water proof and reinforced. You can use either a foam insulation board (base layer) or Perlite materials. Several layers of fiberglass felt are laid on hot asphalt and then topped with a waterproof coat that has embedded gravels or granulated cap sheet membrane.

Modified Membrane Roofing

There are new roofing materials called membranes. They are like tar paper but better. People use them because they don't leak and they do not get wet. They can be used for flat roofs or for roofs made from wood, metal, or other materials.

Cold Applied Liquid Membranes

This is a popular choice for roofs that are new or need to be refurbished. There is no need for fire because these roofing systems are a waterproof kind made of flexible thermoset resin like polyester and polyurethane. They are used mostly in residential buildings where roofs are flat, but also on other small types of buildings.
